ARTIST STATEMENT
My art is an exploration of the stories that shape us—cultural, environmental, and personal. Drawing from Indian traditions, my artistic journey blends classical techniques with contemporary expression, bridging past and present through an evolving, multidisciplinary practice.
Nature is both my muse and message. I’m drawn to the quiet strength of trees, the rhythms of animals, the vibrance of flora, and the fleeting beauty of landscapes. Through oil, acrylics, watercolors, natural pigments, and the intricate patterns of Zentangle and Mithila painting, I bring these themes to life, honoring both the emotional and environmental landscapes we inhabit.
Rooted in over 20 years of teaching, I see art as a shared experience—an avenue to connect, reflect, and grow. My mission extends beyond the canvas: I strive to create work that sparks curiosity, celebrates heritage, and promotes sustainability by involving the larger community in the creative process.
For me, art isn’t just about what we see—it’s about what we carry with us, and what we pass on.
